Jenn McCrindle has been immersed in Harm Reduction in one way or another for most of her life and has worked in various capacities since 2012. For the past 7 years, she has worked as a frontline Rural Outreach worker with Turning Point on Treaty 6 & 7 lands (Central Alberta). Previously, Jenn held roles as Program Coordinator with the Stimulus program (Canadian Drug Policy Coalition); Streetworks HER Pregnancy program in Edmonton; and Harm Reduction Coordinator in Red Deer, AB. She served as Vice-President of AAWEAR (Alberta Alliance Who Educate & Advocate Responsibly) during a 2-year term on the Board of Directors.
A committed advocate for the inclusion and meaningful engagement of people who use drugs, Jenn strives to take on projects and roles reflective of her beliefs. She was the lead Research Assistant on the Canadian Association of People who Use Drugs Best Practices document Hear Us See Us Respect Us: Respecting the Expertise of PWUD. Another CAPUD guideline she contributed to, “Overdose Anarchy: Grief, Loss & Burnout in Harm Reduction” is to be published in the near future. Jenn became Communications Lead as CAPUD staff from June 2023 until April 2024. She is currently involved with an ongoing research project (CRISM/University of Alberta) that studies family experiences of caregiving for people who use drugs in rural communities.
Within Reclaim, Jenn is specializing in frontline supports for workers and organizations, research projects and event planning with a harm reduction focus. She takes pride in work that is considered thoughtful, authentic, and detail-oriented.
