For several years, Lauren held roles such as Outreach Coordinator, Peer Navigation & hosting Reconnects program with AAWEAR (Alberta Alliance who Educate & Advocate Responsibly). Some of Lauren’s research work includes the CAPUD project on grief/burnout/trauma project “Overdose Anarchy” (which she presented with Jenn at Vancouver’s BCCSU conference in Spring 2024); and Habitus/AAWEAR’s on “Cannabis as Relief in Mental Health.” Additionally, she is a member of the Caucus and on the Board of Directors for the Alberta Community Council on HIV (ACCH), and consults for the Public Health Agency of Canada’s PWLLE Working Group.
Most recently Lauren was contracted with Dr. Peter Centre’s Drug Hub where she co-wrote “Experiencing Psychosis” and co-created the Toolkit, “Connecting with People in Psychosis,” which is being used by nonprofits to train frontline staff. Lauren supports on the grassroots community outreach and PWLLE support group, “Fred’s Hotdog Club” and has supported with an unsanctioned inhalation OPS in Alberta.
